In mid January, 2008, Zelazowa joined Ship King Media in Pittsburgh, Pa. for their first “proper” music video. When the Sky Imploded was filmed at the Creative Treehouse and Your Mom’s Indie Department Store in the Bellevue area of the city. Directed by David Urbanic, the video is an artistic performance piece featuring many interesting and rare items found in the store, and the high energy performance that we have come to know from the Gentlemen Z.
The production was an interesting one at that. Including the disruption of district court proceedings (also housed in the same building) and angry magistrates. The neighboring tax office workers were furious from the deafening sound of Terry’s drumkit while filming the scene you see at the very beginning. Kyle’s thrashing and stomping were enough to literally begin bringing the roof down on a lower level, and Terry’s drumming later caused the roof to begin caving in just above him. Other interesting moments came while maneuvering the awkward 20 foot camera crane up three flights of an industrial stairwell that was both too small to accommodate such a unit, and also said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman who died there in the 70’s.
